The surgeon makes a fine incision just below the nose in the natural crease, removes a small amount of skin, and gently lifts the upper lip. After the procedure, a sterile dressing is applied, and you can go home the same day. Sutures are removed after about one week, by which time swelling and bruising have usually subsided.
