Facelift
Facelift addresses sagging skin, especially in the lower face areas. Dr. Payer commonly utilizes the MACS (Minimal Access Cranial Suspension) method, which involves shorter incisions compared to traditional techniques. Facial structures are vertically pulled up and fixed in place, resulting in a more natural appearance with minimal scarring. Another advantage is faster healing. The incision from the short cut in front of the ear blends with the natural line along the ear and becomes inconspicuous after healing. In some cases, the so-called omega incision technique is chosen instead. The incision is made in front of the ear, leads behind the ear and in the direction of the patient’s hairline. A tissue adhesive is applied during the surgery to minimize post-operative swelling and bruising and accelerate healing. Pre-operative consultation and examination are necessary. This procedure can be combined with others, such as a neck lift, a double chin liposuction or blepharoplasty. Stitches are removed after a week (MACS) or two (omega incision).
