Rhinoplasty

Using rhinoplasty, it’s possible to reduce the size of the nose, reshape the tip, adjust nostrils, or correct a deviated septum (which commonly causes breathing difficulties). Rhinoplasty can be performed using either closed or open methods. During the closed method, the incision is made inside the nostrils, leaving no visible scar after surgery. However, this approach limits the surgeon, so we prefer the open method, which includes an additional incision at the bottom edge of the nasal septum. During the procedure, the soft part of the nose (cartilage), hard part (bone), or both can be modified. The small incision is closed, and the entire nose is fixed in place with adhesive bandaging or a splint. This must be worn for 2 or 3 weeks, allowing the nose to heal into the desired shape. There are typically no visible scars after rhinoplasty. The optimal age for this surgery is between 18 and 50. It’s generally recommended to correct your nose at a younger age, as older skin is less elastic and the results may not meet expectations.
