During the consultation, the doctor evaluates the type of scar, skin quality, and the direction of skin lines. Expectations, technique options, and anesthesia are discussed. Before the procedure, the area is precisely marked so that the new scar follows the most discreet path, considering both function and aesthetics of the surrounding area.
Under general anesthesia (or local for smaller procedures), the scar is excised according to the planned shape. The doctor releases tension and may perform a Z-plasty to interrupt pulling forces. The incision is then carefully closed in layers with fine sutures, aligning the skin edges to ensure the smoothest possible healing.
After closure, a sterile dressing is applied, and taping may be used to stabilize the edges. Clear instructions are provided regarding gentle care, scar management, showering, and when to begin pressure or massage. Follow-up appointments monitor healing and advise on the appropriate time to return to sports.

A standard consultation takes approximately 30–60 minutes. During the consultation, the doctor will assess your situation, explain possible treatment options, and answer all your questions.
Compression garments should be worn continuously for 6–8 weeks, including during sleep. They help reduce swelling, support the tissues, and promote scar healing. After consulting with your doctor, wearing time can be gradually reduced.
