Male breast lift

After significant weight loss or with aging, loose skin and a less defined chest contour may remain in men. Male breast lift (chest reshaping) removes excess skin, tightens the tissue, and, if needed, adjusts the position and size of the areolas. The procedure can be combined with liposuction or gland removal to achieve a balanced chest contour.

    Before and After the Procedure

How does male breast lift work?

    Consultation and Planning

The doctor evaluates skin quality, the proportion of fat and glandular tissue, and the position of the areolas. The type and extent of the incision (periareolar, vertical, or anchor) and any liposuction/gland removal are planned. Preoperative examination and a compression plan are included.

    Surgical Reshaping

Under general anesthesia, excess skin is removed, the areolas are resized and repositioned if needed, and liposuction is performed to create smooth transitions. The goal is a firm, flat chest without excess skin or irregularities.

    Finishing and Shape Stabilization

Incisions are closed with layered sutures, covered appropriately, and a compression vest is applied. Clear postoperative instructions are provided to help the contours settle and scars heal inconspicuously. Follow-up appointments monitor healing and overall comfort.

    Post-operative Course

    1st–3rd day
Rest, wear a compression vest, minor swelling/bruising
    1st week
    Light activities, avoid chest strain
    After 2 weeks
Follow-up with the doctor, return to work depending on the type of activity
    Up to 6 weeks
Continue wearing compression, no chest workouts
    2–3 months
    Shape stabilizes, scars fade
