The examination is performed by an experienced physician using an ultrasound probe and conductive gel. The structure of the breast tissue as well as the underarm (axillary) area, where the lymph nodes are located, is evaluated.

Does ultrasound replace mammography?

No. For women over 40, breast ultrasound serves as a complement to mammographic examination.

What are the pre-operative instructions?
