Water-assisted liposuction

Water-assisted liposuction, also known as liposuction with a water jet, uses a gentle stream of saline solution to softly separate fat cells from the surrounding tissue. These fat cells are then suctioned out with a thin cannula, minimizing damage to nearby structures.
Water-assisted liposuction is gentler on lymphatic vessels and tissues, leading to less swelling and a faster recovery. Additionally, it provides immediately visible results without unevenness, and the procedure is usually shorter than traditional methods.
This method is suitable for removing fat from the abdomen, hips, thighs, buttocks, arms, knees, and double chin. In men, it is often used to reduce fat in the chest area. The suctioned fat can also be used for shaping the breasts or buttocks.
In most cases, water-assisted liposuction is performed under local anesthesia. For larger areas or upon patient request, general anesthesia may be chosen, which requires a short hospital stay.
Mild swelling and bruising usually subside within 2 to 6 weeks, and wearing compression garments is recommended for about 6 weeks. Results are visible immediately after the procedure, with the final effect settling within 2 to 3 months.
