Upper lip lift

A lip lift, sometimes called a bullhorn lip lift, is a surgical procedure that shortens the distance between the nose and the upper lip. The surgeon removes a small strip of skin just beneath the nose, which makes the upper lip appear fuller and more defined.
This procedure is especially recommended for clients whose distance between the nose and upper lip is longer than 1.5 cm or if their upper teeth are not visible when smiling. It is also suitable for those with thin lips, downturned corners of the mouth, or insufficient upper lip volume.
The surgery is done on an outpatient basis under local anesthesia and takes approximately 45–60 minutes. The surgeon makes a fine incision under the nose in a natural crease, removes excess skin, and gently lifts the upper lip. The wound is then sutured and covered with a sterile dressing.
Sutures are typically removed after one week, and the scar is well hidden in the crease beneath the nostrils. Swelling and bruising usually subside within 7–10 days, and makeup can be applied after suture removal. Most clients return to their normal routine almost immediately after the procedure, with gradual return to strenuous physical activity recommended after about one week.
The effect of a lip lift is permanent. Unlike hyaluronic acid fillers, the procedure does not need to be repeated. The result looks natural and long-lasting because it changes the actual proportion between the nose and upper lip, rather than temporarily increasing lip volume.
