What is lipedema and how does it differ from common obesity?
A disorder of fatty tissue with uneven fat distribution, typically on the lower limbs or arms, that does not respond to diet or exercise.
Which areas can be treated?
Legs – front/back of the thighs (separately or circumferentially), calves, knees; arms.
Is lipedema liposuction a permanent solution?
Removed cells do not regenerate; with stable weight, the effect is usually long-lasting.
Is the procedure painful?
It is performed under anesthesia; after the procedure, tension or swelling may be felt, which usually subsides within a few days.
Can lipedema be treated in parts?
Yes, depending on the extent of the disease, the procedure is planned in stages – for example, thighs, calves, or arms separately.
