Is the procedure painful?
The procedure is most often performed under local anesthesia and is usually described by patients as very well tolerated. Some slight tightness may be felt after the procedure.
Will there be a visible scar after the procedure?
The incision is made along the natural line of the areola and, once healed, blends well with the surrounding tissue. Our doctors will provide you with all the necessary information on how to care for the scar so it becomes nearly invisible after healing.
Can I breastfeed after the procedure?
In most cases, yes – the correction is performed with care to preserve the milk ducts. However, breastfeeding ability may vary depending on individual factors, so we always recommend discussing this with our specialist during the initial consultation.
Is hospitalization necessary?
No, correction of inverted nipples performed under local anesthesia is an outpatient procedure. After a short rest, you can go home. In cases where general anesthesia is used, hospitalization is required; this will be discussed with you individually by the doctor.
When can I return to work?
You can usually return to work within two days after the procedure, depending on the nature of your job. Full physical activity can generally be resumed after two weeks.
