Abdominoplasty (tummy tuck)

Abdominoplasty involves the removal of excess skin and fat from the abdominal area. If necessary, the procedure also includes stitching the separated abdominal muscles (diastasis). The result is usually a flatter and firmer abdomen, often accompanied by a significant improvement in posture and greater comfort during movement. For more defined contours, the procedure can be combined with liposuction.
Yes, the scar runs horizontally in the lower abdomen. However, it is usually placed low enough to be hidden under underwear or swimwear. Healing varies individually, but thanks to modern techniques and care, the appearance of the scar can be significantly softened and its aesthetic healing supported.
The first 7–10 days require rest and gentle movements. Most patients return to light daily activities without much physical strain after about two weeks. For sports or physically demanding work, it is advisable to wait around 6–8 weeks. To support healing and improve results, wearing compression garments or an abdominal binder for 4–6 weeks is recommended.
It is ideal to have an abdominoplasty after pregnancy and breastfeeding, when no further pregnancies are planned. During pregnancy, muscles may loosen again or skin may stretch, which can affect the surgical outcome. However, if you have a specific plan or reason to undergo surgery earlier, we will discuss everything individually during a personal consultation.
Yes. If the stretch marks are located in the area of skin that is removed during the surgery (usually below the navel), they can be removed along with the excess tissue. Stretch marks above the navel usually remain, but due to the tightening and smoothing of the skin, they may become less visible. Later treatments such as laser therapy or microneedling can also be combined to improve their appearance.
